Firefighters Needed
All volunteer fire departments depend on volunteers.
Without them, we have no fire department, as such, if you can lend any help, be it a firefighter, office/computer assistance, communications, or cleaning/maintaining the station/vehicles, we need your help.
We especially need volunteers from full time residents. We have plenty of weekenders/part time folks, but get very short during the work week.
If you can help, please call the chief (Home 505- 292-6785 or Cabin 505-588-0367).
We also need more medical first responders.
We will provide training fielding all areas in which we need help.
Again, let us emphasize, BCVFD needs help that includes work not directly related to fire fighting. Station, vehicle and office management is important to our operations and any help in these areas will benefit all residents.
There are many jobs being created at all times. Please Contact Us to see what job is best suited for you.
Some of the jobs:
- Detailing Fire Trucks
- Cleaning the Station
- Inventory of equipment
- Maintaining personal equipment
- Maintainiing SCBA
- Medical Support
- Checking water supplies
OUR ANNUAL FUND RAISER EVENTS.
This big event receives donations of used saleable items from Chama Valley Residents, for resale plus a bake/food sale. On more valuable donated items we hold an auction which is a lot of fun.
Our fund raising efforts have always been successful and as such we have one of the best equipment stations in the County. We have substantial support from our property owners and we certainly appreciate the support.
